Joe Chastain

I am Joe Chastain. I am from North Georgia. I have been involved in music for the majority of my life. I currently play and sing in the Southern Gospel group, First Day. We are known as the part time group, with a  full time schedule.

I began my musical journey at a very young age, singing and playing in church.  I started out playing drums, this led to the first part of my music career. At 17 years old, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee to accept my first full time job as a traveling musician with one of the major Southern Gospel groups of that time.  In the early 80's, country music was what made the world go round... I wanted to go too. This is where this ol' country boy got to see the world. In 2012, I released my first solo project, Stone Cold Country. 

I feel like I have came full circle, although my love for "real" country music has never wavered , Southern Gospel music is still my first love. After all these years, you can still find me every weekend, out on the road, singing the best music this side of heaven with First Day.
